Hinsdale Central High School
A high school Social Studies class in the suburbs of Chicago.
Hoboken Charter School
Because "service learning is a way to teach, not a thing to teach" and it is my goal to build better global citizens via art... Using art as a means for grassroots activism vs. being a mere form of decoration... AND because my students have bought into the cause and feel a sense of responsibility! For us, it is all about compassion! Water IS life and everyone deserves that! Because it is our duty to care for our "Ubuntu"!
Holy Cross School
Holy Cross School in New Orleans has a service society, Brother Andre Service Society. Brother Andre Bessette was a humble man of service to his community. Members of the Brother Andre Service Society seek to follow his example by participating in a variety of services. Holy Cross helps many in town that are less fortunate than ourselves. During the 2014-2015 school year, we have focused on Ozanam Inn, a homeless shelter for men. All 95 6th graders have or will perform service at the shelter. Every month we have collected items for Ozanam Inn: winter clothing, towels, socks, baseball hats, pajamas, band-aids, toiletries, and Christmas toys for the Homeless Children’s Christmas Party that Ozanam Inn sponsors.
Holy Rosary Catholic School
We want to be able to make our students and community more aware of the need around the world for fresh water. Also, we want our students to make more conscientious choices when using water and be thankful for what we all have.
Holy Rosary Catholic School
We have sponsored a school through H2O for Life for 5 years now. The students love helping others in need.
Holy Spirit Catholic Church
As a Catholic youth group we are encouraged to help people through God. We believe that this would be a great opportunity for us to realize how blessed we are and how we can help those who are less fortunate. We thought these different water projects are a great way to help these children in developing countries.

Hopewell Junior School
At Hopewell Junior School, we have clean water everyday. The same can't be said for the students and teachers of Manera Primary School. Without clean water, the students are dropping out of school and not getting a proper education. Everyone deserves a proper education, just like we get daily. We hope to give the students a brighter future with our donation, by providing clean bathrooms and sanitary water.
Hopkins High School
We have the opportunity to provide a transformational service-learning opportunity for our students through H2O for Life. Our students will study issues surrounding the global water crisis, learn about their partner school and country, and will plan and implement activities that raise funds to help bring water and sanitation to our partner school. We want our students to know that by working together, we can make a difference in the world! We hope that all students in our school will benefit from our partnership with H2O for Life. Students will be challenged to think about their own habits concerning water usage, and will develop awareness of the enormity of the issues surrounding water in our world. We hope our school will be committed to make this project for our partner school a reality.
Horizon Sendai Primary School: Gr...
The grade four class at Horizon Sendai Primary School had been learning about equal access to water in their unit of inquiry. Upon learning that several countries that did not have access to water the students replied unanimously that they wanted to help. Together they decided that they would help a school that needed access to water. In 2020-21 they researched several different options and decided to raise money for Ebukhayi Primary School in Kenya. This year, they chose to raise funds for a project in South Sudan.
Howard Middle School
H2O for Life gives us the opportunity to help others who aren’t as fortunate as we are and give them the chance to have better lives. We’re very lucky to have the lives we have today, and we find it unfair that children our age can’t get a proper education. They don’t even have a simple necessity, like clean water, something that we take for granted every day. It’s so easy for us to walk to our fridge, just one room over, and grab a bottle of fresh water only to drink half and leave the rest to go to waste. The water that we “couldn’t finish” could quench the thirst of a family. Participating in H2O for Life enables us to help families and children in need, in the best way we can, from our small town. This is such an eye opening experience that has taught us so much about the importance of just one sip of clean water.
