Alameda Elementary School

Portland Oregon is water rich. The Community Service Club at Alameda wants to create greater awareness that this basic resource we take for granted - clean water flows from our taps and water fountains - is scarce in many parts of Africa and elsewhere. As the climate changes, drought and water scarcity will become of greater concern around the globe.

Albert Einstein Academies

Albert Einstein Academies is an Elementary and Middle School that is committed to offering a global education through our International Baccalaureate Primary and Middle Years Programmes. We teach our students to be caring and responsible global citizens who continuously strive to take action to make our world a better place. This will be our 3rd Annual school-wide Walk for Water that coincides with World Water Day on March 22nd and we would like the money we raise to go to assisting the Cherrai School in India provide their villages with toilets as well as promoting the importance of clean water on health through education. This wil be our second year funding for H2O for life

Alderman Road Elementary

We are so fortunate to have clean water that is easily accessible to us. We take this necessity for granted too often. It is my hope that, through partnering with Lutangilo School in Tanzania, that we all will learn empathy for others and to be thankful for a resource we all need to live.

Alexander Hamilton Academy

Our students read the book A Long Walk to Water. We want to participate as a culminating service learning project. When the students were done reading the book they realized that they had to take action and make a difference.

Alexandria Werner's Water Project

I worked on a couple of H2O for Life Water projects at my previous school and I found the experience to be very rewarding. I have always had an interest in water purification and conservation. I want to pursue a career in Environmental Engineering after high school so water projects will likely be an area that I will work in the future. I have tried to get a group of Water Warriors together at my current high school but I have not been successful in finding anyone interested in working with me on any H2O for Life Water projects. I saw this endeavor, and the need these young school children in Nicaragua have for clean, safe latrines and I decided to sponsor this school latrine project on my own.

We are students at T.C. Williams who have decided to turn these unprecedented times into an opportunity to have a global impact. We often take our access to clean water for granted. Since learning about children just like us at schools like the Excel Junior School in Uganda, whose only option is to drink dirty water, we have realized that access to clean water is one of the greatest blessings. According to UNICEF, every single day 6,000 children die of water related diseases. We want to be a part of the change that will save countless lives. We will be walking 5 kilometers while carrying 6 liters of water to represent the average distance that women and girls across the globe must walk everyday to bring their families water. Any donation that you make based on our completion of this walk will have a lifelong impact on the children at the Excel Junior School (click on their page below to learn more about this school.)

Amherst Regional Middle School

Amherst Regional Middle School is a 7th and 8th grade school serving students from the towns of Amherst, Pelham, Leverett and Shutesbury. We are a culturally rich, linguistically diverse, socially responsible community. Our school has approximately 440 students, organized into four different teams. Our school is grounded in middle school philosophy which emphasizes the unique needs and learning opportunities of early adolescents to approach our education with open hearts, open minds and open ARMS.

Andover eCademy

The Andover eCademy Community Service group seeks to find various ways to help our community (at school, in Andover, in Kansas, and worldwide). We are excited about the opportunity to walk to help raise money to help those in need of clean water.

Our students have been studying the conservation and concerns of water in our region. The visited our local water plant and spoke with our city planner. After considering the concerns regarding water locally, nationally, and internationally, they decided to educate their peers. The students also determined that they wanted to do more to support a school in another region. Thus, they picked Durato Dela as their project. On January 22 the students walked 3 miles with their water jugs to raise awareness for their fundraiser.
