White Bear Nation helps Navajo Na...
White Bear Lake High School has partnered with H2O For Life for many years and this year is no exception. This pandemic has given our students a historic chance to help out people in our own country with unbelievable needs. The Navajo Nation currently has been decimated with Coronavirus. As of April 27, they had 1,873 positive COVID-19 cases and 60 known deaths. An estimated 40% of residents don't have access to running water, making hygiene practices extremely challenging. This is where we can help. H2O For Life has partnered with DigDeep to bring water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities to the Navajo Nation. DigDeep is currently working non-stop to deliver soap, build handwashing facilities and provide lifesaving water for residents. GO BEARS!
Whitney High School
Whitney High School wants to help others in need. It's important to do your part to help the less fortunate. This is a great opportunity to be united and raise money to help others in third world countries.
WHRHS H2O for Life Club
The WHRHS H2O for Life Club plans to fundraise in support of the Guadalupe Perez project.
Wiggins School
PLEASE HELP THE STUDENTS AT THE WIGGINS SCHOOL IN CAMDEN, NJ GIVE THE GIFT OF CLEAN WATER TO A SCHOOL IN TANZANIA, AFRICA The students at the Wiggins College Preparatory Lab School, a school in Camden, New Jersey, want to make a difference in the world and help to make it a better place. Through the H2O For Life non-profit organization, we will be partnering with the Ipagala School in the developing country of Tanzania, Africa. Through fundraising efforts, we will strive to raise funds for a water project that will bring clean water, sanitary bathroom and handwashing facilities to our partner school in Tanzania. The total cost of the project is $5750.00 Our partner school currently has no access to clean water. By providing this school with access to clean water and sanitation facilities, we will enable more of its students to attend school, since they won’t have to spend their days searching for clean water or being sick at home because they have contracted a water-related disease. Did you know that a child dies every 20 seconds in the world because of unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation? By helping the students across the globe, we will be learning about the global water crisis and about our partner community in Tanzania. This service-learning project will be a great opportunity for us to help to fix a serious global problem and make a positive difference in the world. Even though we are planning several fundraisers during the school year, including a tree planting event, a water walk, and other community service-related activities, we know that we cannot reach our lofty goal without your generosity and support.
Willow Lane Elementary School
Willow Lane Elementary School serves a diverse student population with nearly 60% of our students on Free and Reduced Lunch. Service is a core value of the White Bear Lake Area Schools. Willow Lane is transitioning to an Environmental Science focus. This project brings some great learning opportunities that will tie-in with service and the environmental issues around water. Our students will focus on additional core values of compassion, integrity and responsibility.
Wilson High School
We are fortunate enough to have easy access to clean water and sanitation facilities. Even though we take it for granted, this project will help to increase awareness about the situation in other parts of the world.
Windsor Locks Middle School
We want to help the children in need. We want to create a VOICE that reaches across borders and countries!
Wishing Well - Alaina Rivera
Alaina (age 11) is starting a service project for the summer and is hoping to donate her proceeds to a school in need. She has purchased supplies for water balloon flip flops with her own money and is going to assemble them and sell them with the hopes of earning cash to help provide needy children with clean water. We visited H2O for Life at the Aveda water walk on Earth Day and my children talk of the organization frequently. You made quite an impression upon them!
Wolfson Water Project
We are Samuel Wolfson School for Advanced Studies. We are interested in partnering with this project as a way to become more engaged in global issues while focusing our efforts as a club on meeting direct needs of a specific group of people with real outcomes. We are looking to give back and help promote global literacy and promote health systems world wide. Students participating in this program at Wolfson are engaging in the IB CAS program.
