Sisters4Water
We are artists and activists devoted to changing the world, one potholder at a time. This is our FIFTEENTH year weaving potholders in support of water rights. All of our materials are donated, so every penny we make goes directly to H2O for Life. The potholders are 100% cotton, made from loops from Harrisville Designs, a mill in New Hampshire. Therefore, they are entirely made in the USA! We sell two sizes: 6x6" for $8 each and 8.5x8.5” for $12. This is Ella's fifteenth year weaving potholders and Mabel's tenth! This year we are partnering again with DigDeep for the Navajo Water Project to provide clean, hot and cold running water to homes that don't have access to water or sewer lines in Utah, New Mexico, and Arizona. South Orangetown Middle School
Every day, one billion people make a three hour journey to gather water! There is a water crisis throughout the world that is creating economic, social, educational and, worst of all, life threatening conditions. We can help change that statistic for our partner school. We have the opportunity to provide a transformational service-learning opportunity for our students through H2O for Life. Our students will study issues surrounding the global water crisis, learn about their partner school and country, and will plan and implement activities that raise funds to help bring water and sanitation to our partner school. We want our students to know that by working together, we can make a difference in the world! We hope that all students in our school will benefit from our partnership with H2O for Life. Students will be challenged to think about their own habits concerning water usage, and will develop awareness of the enormity of the issues surrounding water in our world. We hope our school will be committed to make this project for our partner school a reality.
STARS Alternative High School
We are a small high school located in cozy Central New York. As part of the global community, we feel the burning desire to help those Earthlings who are in need. This year we're focusing on bringing awareness to (and easing) water issues around the world.
St. Christopher School
Each year, we encourage our students to become involved in a charitable service project to foster activism within the global community. Our first year, we decided to direct our efforts towards a charity that directly benefits children, so we signed on to help raise funds for Ecole Mixte Action Fraternelle in Haiti. Our students rose to the challenge and exceeded their fundraising goal. As our continued hope, is to foster a sense of responsibility and fellowship with others in their age group who do not have access to the same basic necessities of daily life, we have decided to take on an entire project on our own this year. Two years ago, we decided to sponsor a well in South Sudan. We encouraged community outreach, by sending student groups to local business and fellowship groups to explain our cause and solicit financial support. There were additional fundraising and educational opportunities throughout the year. Again, our students surpassed the goal. last year we again sponsored a school in Haiti, while also supporting parish relief efforts in Puerto Rico, and greatly surpassed our goal. This year, we will focus our efforts for maintenance to a well and water supply in the Dominican Republic. This will help keep the water clean and flowing at a school with a large Haitian population. Our 6th, 7th and 8th graders will participate in a walk in June to “put themselves in the shoes” of those for whom water is not easily accessible. We will also be including the primary grades, by having them complete an abbreviated walk.
The Albany Academy
The Albany Academy stands as the first and only independent, preparatory, Pre-K through post-graduate school in New York’s Capital Region. The Academy offers an innovative model of education, with co-educational learning in the Lower and Upper Schools and single-sex learning in the Middle School. The Academy’s curriculum is designed to develop diligent students of high character who become curious, critical thinkers.
The BRAVE Institute
The BRAVE Institute is an organization that works to inspire and challenge humans to be brave and self-empowered contributors to a better world. We have recently learned about the impact that lack of clean water can have on girls and their education and love H2O for life and all it stands for. BRAVE will be organizing a "Walk for Water" at The University of Connecticut on April 18th at 11am!

Dalton's 9th grade biology students are passionate about creating change in the world for children and believe that small simple actions, such as raising awareness about the global water crisis, can make a huge impact in the lives of others. Our students are compelled to make a difference in the world through their actions and will work hard to reach their goals!
