Minnetonka Middle School West
The students at MMW really want to participate in H2O for Life because we are learning about how water and the lack of clean water can affect people all over the world. We learned about The Lost Boys and their story. We watched 'God Grew Tired of Us' and can see first hand that these people need our help. We can help them by giving them money to build a water well. We know how important water is and that they need water to survive, this is something we can do to take action and help our 'world family'.

Mrs. Pulczinski's 5th grade Class
We have been learning about renewable and nonrenewable resources. My students are thrilled to support this program and to help bring 3 jugs of clean water to these children everyday.

MTS Elementary - MN Transitions C...
Our school mission is to prepare our students to make a positive contribution as they live and work in an ever-changing world. H2O for Life completely aligns with this mission. Our students are from low-income, highly mobile families. Maybe because their needs are not always met they understand the idea of wanting and not always having the basics. They were excited about the idea of raising money for a well to provide clean water.

Music For A Cause
Music For a Cause is a group at Century College dedicated to service using music. We support various causes by putting on events to raise funds and awareness, as well as help other groups who reach out to us for support. We are working with H2O for life as a way to get involved with a group that has a global impact and that has ties to our local area.

Nana's Project
Virginia Fleming was a driving force behind H2O for Life. It was her love for people, social justice and Africa that opened the eyes of others to the need for water, sanitation and hygiene education around the world. "Nana" or "Auntie Ginny" to many, was loved by all and shared her spirit and love for life will everyone. She traveled to Kenya on numerous occasions, and developed many friendships in the communities that she visited. She would be delighted to know that a school in Kenya will receive the gift of water, sanitation and hygiene education that will be life-changing.

Nora Pettinger
Every day, one billion people make a three-hour journey to gather water! There is a water crisis throughout the world that is creating economic, social, educational, and life-threatening conditions. There is an urgent need for clean water and sanitation in schools and communities around the world. Children, especially those under the age of five, are most susceptible to the ultimate horrors of water-borne diseases. Access to clean water and adequate sanitation substantially decreases the mortality rates among children.

North View Middle an IB World School
As an IB World School we believe in supporting local and global service learning projects. H2O for Life is one of our global service learning projects that our students are taking on this school year. As an IB World School, North View students are asked to think globally and act locally. Students in our Individuals and Societies classes and our Science classes have studied Africa as a region of the world and learned about water resources and the struggles that some areas of the world have with getting and keeping water clean. Our students have a strong desire to do what they can to help the children in this part of the world.

Oltman Middle School
In 6th grade Critical Thinking class we are working towards raising awareness and making a difference with the global water crisis. We will be reading the book, "A Long Walk to Water" as well as doing our own walk for water during the last week of school. We are 5 "Critical Thinking" classes coming together to help fund a project in South Sudan. We are taking part in a "global water crisis" unit, which includes a walk for water service learning project to give back. We are currently reading the book, "A Long Walk to Water", and will be walking at the end of November.
