Buffalo High School AVID & World ...
In 2017-2018 AVID 11 is organizing a set of fundraisers to purchase water filters for Puerto Rico. We have pledged to raise at least $750 through H2O for Life. They raised over $1200. Now in 2018-19, Ms. Schramm's World Studies class chose to donate to an H2O for Life project after learning about Africa in class. They voluntarily donate $100.
Buffalo Middle School
To celebrate February "I Love to Read" month, Buffalo Community Middle School participated in a school wide book study. The selected book was A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park. BCMS students and staff developed a greater global perspective and compassion for people who face great challenges each day.
Burnsville High School
Our Green Team (Environmental leadership team) will be using a Terra Cycle chip recycling plan and other fundraising mechanisms to contribute and help these students. Our school sets in suburban Minneapolis and considers composting, the environment, and service to be key pillars to who we are at BHS.
Camp Kampa Homeschool
When we made the decision to homeschool, none of us realized just how fulfilling it would be or how fortunate we are to be able to do so. As we worked through our Water Unit, we realized the importance of water in our world. We learned that not everyone has access to clean water. Women and children all over the world must walk miles to get water for their families. We realize just how important this access is as we are living through the COVID-19 pandemic. We believe all people should have access to clean water and we want to be part of the solution! Check the updates section to learn more about the crisis and to see the current “masklaces” we have available with a minimum $10 donation. MASK UP!!
Cannon Falls High School
The INTERACT Club in Cannon Falls is the high school extension of the local Rotary Club. INTERACT participated in a project for a school in Malawi a couple of years ago and we wanted to participate again in helping H20 for Life bring clean water to children around the world. We will be doing another MORP, or backwards prom, along with a couple of other group activities to help raise funds for this event. We also want to partner with our local Rotary Club to draw attention to water quality issues in our community with Lake Byllesby and with our local rivers and streams. We are planning on a park and river clean up in the Spring. Our INTERACT Club is about promoting choices that make an impact here at home and that make a difference for people around the world.
Centennial Middle School
Centennial Middle School has been a proud participant with H2O for Life for the past several years. We are one of the original H2O for Life Schools. Educating our students about the global water crisis including both local and global issues is important. Our students learn that there are actions they can take that will lead to local water conservation, and actions that will help a partner school in the developing world have access to water, sanitation and hygiene education.
Centerville Elementary
Our 5th grade reading group read a story about world hunger and it motivated them to do something to make a positive difference in the world. We discussed several ideas and our group voted to try to help solve the world water crisis by supporting an H2O for Life project.
Central Middle School
Central Middle School has been a supporter of the H2O for Life Organization. The students connect with students their age throughout the world and appreciate their ability to make a difference in their everyday lives. 6th, 7th and 8th grade students and Student Council students, organize and lead fund-raising opportunities that involve the entire Central community.
Children's Performing Arts of MN
Every day, one billion people make a three hour journey to gather water! There is a water crisis throughout the world that is creating economic, social, educational and, worst of all, life threatening conditions. We can help change that statistic for our partner school.
CLA 1002 USERVE
This project will be part of a week of service opportunities for first-year students in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota.
