CAK Walk for Water

Posted by Steve Hall on March 31

As the video captures the laughter and determination of the Christian Academy of Knoxville students, it mirrors the joy found in the classrooms of Nasaruni.

Through this partnership, the students of Knoxville, TN proved that you don’t have to cross an ocean to change a life—you just have to start walking. Because of their strides, the girls at Nasaruni Academy in Kenya can now spend less time worrying about basic needs and more time dreaming about the future.

While the CAK students walked, the vision for Nasaruni Academy was clear. In Kenya, the school serves as a sanctuary for Maasai girls, providing them with a chance to learn, grow, and lead. But a school cannot thrive on books alone; it requires dignity and health.

The funds raised from this walk weren’t just “donations”—they were the bricks, mortar, and plumbing for new bathroom facilities.

The Impact
  • Health & Hygiene: Reducing water-borne illnesses and providing a sanitary environment.
  • Dignity: Ensuring girls have the privacy they need to stay in school consistently.
  • Time: Reducing the hours spent trekking for water, allowing more hours for the classroom.
