Quail Valley Students Dive In
At Quail Valley Elementary in Palmdale, CA, the 5th grade Special Day Class (SDC) students engaged in a Project-Based Learning Unit centered on the scarcity and importance of water.
In this project, students investigated the concept of self-awareness concerning their environmental footprint and the effects of their choices and behaviors on the environment. They collected data on their families’ consumption of natural resources, such as gallons per minute. Through this exploration, students gained an understanding of the significance of self-awareness and the influence of our decisions and actions on our natural surroundings.
For their H2O for Life project, the students chose to support the drilling of a borehole well in South Sudan.
