Borehole Well Drilled
May 21, 2025

Kiguuka Community School is situated in the Nwoya district of northern Uganda and was founded by concerned parents who noticed a high number of local children not attending school regularly. The lack of safe water sources in the area forced students to spend a significant amount of time looking for water, causing them to miss valuable classroom time.
Our partner organization, Drop in the Bucket, recently drilled a borehole well on the school grounds, providing a safe water source. This access to safe water is expected to significantly boost student attendance and enrollment, potentially doubling the number of students in the next year.
Thank you to Holy Taxiarhai and Saint Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church in Niles, IL, for supporting this project!
