About H2O for Life Since 2007, H2O for Life has spearheaded initiatives to engage youth in service learning and support water, sanitation, and hygiene education projects worldwide. We aim to cultivate “global citizens” who are actively involved in solving the global water crisis. Governed by a dedicated Board of Directors, we collaborate with schools, youth groups, and a robust network of NGO partners.
Opportunity: Board of Directors We are expanding our Board of Directors and are specifically looking for professionals with expertise in K-12 education, corporate leadership, human resources, finance, and accounting. By joining our Board, you will play a pivotal role in strategic planning, governance, and advancing our mission to ensure sustainable water solutions globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Shape and drive the multi-year strategic plan, ensuring alignment with our mission and vision.
- Governance: Uphold the highest standards of integrity and compliance, monitor policies, and ensure legal and fiscal responsibilities are met.
- Financial Oversight: Work closely with the Board Treasurer to oversee financial strategies and sustainability.
- Fundraising and Development: Actively engage in fundraising, leveraging your network to secure resources and partnerships that will empower our programs.
- Advocacy and Outreach: Champion H2O for Life’s initiatives within your professional and social circles, enhancing our visibility and impact.
Expectations
- Attend approximately seven board meetings annually, with a minimum 75% attendance rate; participation can be virtual or in-person.
- Dedicate an average of two hours per month to board activities, with additional time for specific projects and events.
- Serve a minimum term of three years, with the potential for re-election.
- Make a meaningful personal financial contribution annually, reflecting a commitment to our cause as a top philanthropic priority.
