Mukuthu Secondary School
Mukuthu Secondary School was founded in 2013 through a community initiative. The parents acquired the school land, while the buildings and other infrastructure were acquired using government funds and support from the parents. The school has grown in terms of population and academic performance over the years. There are currently 110 students, 61 girls and 59 boys, and 14 administrators/staff.
Karandini Vocational Training Center
Founded in 2012, this institution was established with the vision of equipping young people with the technical skills needed to transform their communities. Despite its promising beginnings, the school’s growth has been hindered by a persistent lack of reliable water — a challenge that has affected both daily operations and essential hands-on training. Without adequate water, practical lessons in areas such as building and construction have been limited, and maintaining hygiene and sanitation has remained a constant struggle. Yet, even amid these challenges, the school’s spirit of resilience and commitment to education has remained unshaken.Today, the institution serves 65 students — 25 girls and 39 boys — and stands at a pivotal moment in its journey. Recognized in the past as a “potential giant,” it continues to inspire hope as a future center of technical excellence. With the right support, particularly through access to clean and consistent water, this school is poised to grow into a thriving technical hub — one capable of offering a wider range of programs, attracting a larger student body, and nurturing the next generation of skilled builders, innovators, and community leaders.
Kathungu Primary School - Boys VIP Latrines
Kathungu Primary School is a public day and boarding school located in Makueni County, Kenya. This school was started in 1974 with grass-thatched classrooms. Today, there are 316 boys and 312 girls. The school has 11 streams, which are managed by the 25 teachers with leadership from Mr. Richard Musau, the head teacher, and his deputy, Mr. Wambua Mutisya. The school performs very well both academically and in sports.The pupils in this school participate in various activities during a normal day. They are engaged in learning activities from 8:20 am to 3:10 pm. They participate in various sports during game time from 3:10 pm to 4.10 pm. There are remedial classes for the learners needing extra help from 4:10 pm to 5.00 pm.
Luhokho Primary School W. Kenya
Luhokho Primary School began humbly with just 20 learners and two dedicated teachers who held classes inside a local church building. Over time, the school grew rapidly as more families enrolled their children, eager to avoid the long and difficult walks to distant primary schools. What started as a small community effort has become a beacon of hope for parents seeking quality education close to home.Today, the school has four permanent classrooms serving the primary section, yet many pupils continue to learn under trees or in semi-permanent structures. Despite these challenges, Luhokho Primary School remains a symbol of resilience and determination within the community. The school now serves 305 students — 178 girls and 127 boys — whose dreams are shaped daily within these modest surroundings.
