Brisbane Elementary School District

While visiting this preschool for orphans this past summer, the awareness of not having access to water was right in front of me... no longer a distant concept that I heard or read about. These very sweet children, who already have so many challenges at the beginning of their young lives with having lost their parents, spend their days trying to learn at a school with a mud floor, no access to water, and a single latrine. Despite this, the children and the teachers were so happy and welcoming.

I thought that this would be an ideal project and learning experience for the students of the Brisbane School District. We are fortunate enough to have easy access to clean water and sanitation facilities. This is one way to increase awareness about the water situation in other parts of the world, while helping these students and teachers have what we take for granted.
