Wyoming Elementary
The student council at Wyoming Elementary does several service projects during the school year. Traditionally the projects that we have done have been for our local community. This project was brought to our attention by a group from St. Paul Lutheran Church, a local church mission group that visited Mtera in Tanzania. Former Wyoming Elementary students were part of the group visiting Tanzania. They came back very enthusiastic about digging a new well at Mtera. The Wyoming Elementary student council was excited to be part of this global opportunity after hearing about the drinking water conditions at Mtera Secondary School. The pastor painted a great picture for us by telling us about seeing monkeys playing in the water tower there, and waiting in line for a great length of time to get a small amount of dirty water in her water bottle.
