South Carroll High School’s National Honors Society (NHS) proudly presents its second annual Walk for Water event! With strong leadership and dedication, we launched this event last year with the goal to ACT LOCALLY to IMPACT GLOBALLY. Through this project we are promoting community awareness of the global water crisis while providing education on the need for widespread water conservation. After researching and learning about the global water crisis we want to make others conscious of how precious our water resources are, and how fortunate our community is to have clean and constant access to this finite basis of life. Last year’s walk raised over $5000 with more than 200 participants walking and even more donating, and provided a fun time for everyone! This year we want to make our event even bigger and better. We are trying to raise $7000 for a school in Mozambique and the Dominican Republic. With your help, whether it’s participating in our walk or donating, will make a difference for these children. All we ask is that you bring an open mind to hearing their story and their daily struggles to attain water. Please encourage your friends, families, teachers, and businesses to come support and be part of our big event! Our event information can be found below, in addition to a portal to sign up to either donate to our cause or just sign up to walk. South Carroll’s NHS appreciates all your support and efforts to take part in our cause.
