Project
Oguola College Secondary School
Project Complete!
Oguola College Secondary has a student population of 321 girls, 389 boys and 13 teachers/staff. The school desperately needs implementation of a clean water source, rehabilitated latrines and a hygiene training program.
Currently students must carry water from home, or walk long distances from the school campus to collect water that is not safe to drink. There are not enough toilets to meet the needs of the school. Girls, particularly, lack a safe space to take care of personal hygiene needs.
Through a collaboration with Rotary Clubs worldwide, Procter and Gamble and H2O for Life, 30 schools in Nigeria are receiving wells, toilets and hygiene education.
H2O for Life is not a WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) project implementer. We have partnerships with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) implementing WASH in Schools projects around the world. Our NGO partners match funds needed for each school project. We also have a generous donor that provides us with an interest-free loan that, along with matching funds, allows for many projects to be started or possibly even completed before total funds have been raised. In rare situations we reserve the right to reallocate funds to alternate project(s).
