Project
Muwangi Muslim Primary School
Project Complete!
Muwangi Muslim Primary School is located in Masaka district in the Central region of Uganda. The students have to travel 1km to the nearest dam to meet the school's water needs. In addition to the students, approximately 1500 people use the same water source for their daily water needs.
Fetching water robs students of valuable class time. It also poses serious risks to the students as the water is shared with animals daily and children have to slope down the hill surrounded by dense vegetation when fetching water and again climb the hill with jerry cans on their heads.
Project Proposal:
Installation of a rainwater collection system on school grounds, 2 hand-washing stations, 4 sawyer filters and community WASH education.

H2O for Life is not a WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) project implementer. We have partnerships with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) implementing WASH in Schools projects around the world. Our NGO partners match funds needed for each school project. We also have a generous donor that provides us with an interest-free loan that, along with matching funds, allows for many projects to be started or possibly even completed before total funds have been raised. In rare situations we reserve the right to reallocate funds to alternate project(s).
