Ecole Nationale de Saintard
Project Complete!
Ecole Nationale de Saintard is a school of 6 classrooms in 2 separate buildings and has 274 students, both boys and girls, grades 1st-6th. The state funded school is located in Arcahaie, a western region of Haiti. Arcahaie, situated about an hour outside of the largest city in Haiti, has a population of about 35,000 people and about half of them are children.
Ecole Nationale de Saintard does not have access to clean water. If the school doesn’t gain access to purified water through this program, the students are forced to drink contaminated water from a nearby well. 6th grade teacher, Charité Pierre Hermann told us about the well water frequently causing the students to fall ill and develop rashes on their skin leading them to miss school.
Supporting this project will allow enough funds to deliver jugs of purified water daily for an entire school year.
H2O for Life is not a WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) project implementer. We have partnerships with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) implementing WASH in Schools projects around the world. Our NGO partners match funds needed for each school project. We also have a generous donor that provides us with an interest-free loan that, along with matching funds, allows for many projects to be started or possibly even completed before total funds have been raised. In rare situations we reserve the right to reallocate funds to alternate project(s).
