Project
Erasmus Crèche (Part 2)
Project Complete!
Located in Erasmus community, a tribal community located in South Africa in the North West Province. Last year, a group of Parkour Athletes along with Francis Lyons visited Erasmus Creche. They saw the enormous need for water and sanitation for the students attending the school. The athletes had a wonderful day educating the students about movement activities, and also talking about hygiene education and the impact of clean water and sanitation.
Last year a portion of the funds were raised for the project. This year, we hope to raise the remaining amount so that students at Erasmus will have access to clean water, sanitation and a full hygiene education program.
The project will consist of water tanks with taps for accessing water. A pipe will supply water to the kitchen to support a lunch program, and toilets will be improved. All staff and students will receive hygiene education training and the larger community is invited to participate in training.
Thanks to Global Water Challenge, Jesse, Max and Francis for getting the ball rolling. Can your school help us reach the goal to implement this project for these young students?
H2O for Life is not a WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) project implementer. We have partnerships with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) implementing WASH in Schools projects around the world. Our NGO partners match funds needed for each school project. We also have a generous donor that provides us with an interest-free loan that, along with matching funds, allows for many projects to be started or possibly even completed before total funds have been raised. In rare situations we reserve the right to reallocate funds to alternate project(s).
