Safe water for Lukomera students

Thank you for bringing safe water to Lukomera C/U Primary School, Uganda

 

·         You brought clean water to 524 people

·         You eliminated 1.81 miles of walking per day

·         You reduced collection time by 17.50 hours per day

·         You replaced a Borehole well with a Rainwater Catchment System

 

While the closest water source for the students was a nearby borehole well, the well runs dry about once a week. Additionally, the surrounding community of 800 people also uses the well, so quantity of water is a concern.

 

·         Calculations are based the on number of 20 liter jerrycans used each day at this facility: 35 jerrycans

·         One jerrycan per trip to original water source

·         Distance is calculated for a round trip, using GPS, as the crow flies
