Project
Greenland Excel Primary School
Project Complete!
For the students at this primary school, the main source of water is a swamp.
The stagnant water is covered in algae and other water pollutants, and the children must go through dense plant life and avoid animals and reptiles when fetching water each day. 800 other members of the surrounding community also fetch water here, so students may be required to wait in line, missing value time in class.
This project includes the installation of a rainwater collection system (RCS) on school grounds, 2 hand-washing stations, and community WASH education.
H2O for Life is not a WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) project implementer. We have partnerships with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) implementing WASH in Schools projects around the world. Our NGO partners match funds needed for each school project. We also have a generous donor that provides us with an interest-free loan that, along with matching funds, allows for many projects to be started or possibly even completed before total funds have been raised. In rare situations we reserve the right to reallocate funds to alternate project(s).
