My school, Westridge School for Girls, has partnered with H2O for life since 2011. Over the years we have raised over $200,000 dollars for communities in the developing world such as Africa, Latin America, and even here in the US, in places like the Navajo Nation and Appalachia. Last year in 7th grade we did a water unit where we learned about the communities in the developing world and how women walk around 4 miles every day to get water for their communities, and in their lifetime spend around 200 million hours getting water. There are also a lot of health issues that come with this, the water they do get often has water born diseases and the women carry around 40 pounds per trip contributing to back pains, headaches and overall exhaustion. These women can be as young as 5 years old and in going to get water, they sacrifice their education and childhood. By donating to our cause you are helping millions of people get clean, fresh, water for the first time in their life, you are helping girls and women around the world get an education, and giving kids free time to play, learn, and have fun.
Please donate to my fundraiser or just spread the word! Anything you can give is a huge help!
