There is an urgent need for implementation of safe water, sanitation and hygiene education projects (WASH in Schools) for schools around the world. The addition of WASH facilities improves the health and learning performance of students by reducing the incidence of water and sanitation related diseases. After reading about the situations of the schools we are supporting this year, I've realized that the water crisis is highly impacting so many students. Each school is different, but the source of water at school is usually miles away and possibly contaminated. If the water is contaminated, they then have to carry it back to boil, which sometimes cannot be done due to the lack of resources. I am so fortunate to have fresh water on hand, but now I know so many places don't have this privilege. On November 6th, we will do a 3.1 mile walk with a gallon of water to simulate what walking with water would be like. With the Water Warriors, I hope to help make a major change in their lives by raising money that would be used to provide better water resources for the schools that need it. Thank you!
