My fourth grade classmates and I read the novel A Long Walk To Water this year and after learning about the water crisis in South Sudan we were inspired to help! We have decided to raise money to sponsor the building of a well in a village in South Sudan. With a water well, the children will no longer have to walk back and forth for hours a day to get water to survive. Kids like Anya will finally be able to go to school when they are no longer needed to spend their days walking to get water.

We can’t do this alone though so we are reaching out to our families and friends for help. As a grade, we have pledged to raise $5,000 that will go directly to building the well.
