Westin Sheppard

I am a grade two student at Fish Creek School in Calgary. I am also a member of Scouts Canada, serving my third year in the Beaver program with Section McKenzie 210, in Calgary.
When a project to complete my North Star Award for Beavers came up, I wanted to do something bigger than just picking up litter in my community. With the help of my mom, we came up with the idea to raise money for a cause or charity. We did some research and thought this would be perfect!
I will be walking 5km with my mom, to raise funds to support Calvary Cross Junior School, which is located in Luwero district in the Central region of Uganda.
We have not set a date for the walk yet, but we are working on it! We are hoping to raise the $2,025 needed in order to bring water to their school and community.
